[05/10 IG Repost]
We’re happy to announce our latest signatory from Turtle Island-way, alll the way from Portland, Maine, Warclouds ( @warclouds_punx )!
We love Warclouds’ dark, earthy aesthetic as much as their uncompromising politics. As they write, punk is not just music, but a social movement! And as they go on to emphasise, social movements mean action & solidarity, not just words. And while we aren’t all the way ‘there’ yet (will we ever be?), we are so pleased that our network is continuing to grow and become a kind of living embodiment of that brash, beautiful intersection of movements that Warclouds speaks of in their statement. And we are excited to keep coming up with new forms of organising we didn’t think possible even one year ago.
Any social movement that hopes to succeed MUST premise itself on plurality & the ability to organise on multiple levels at once, or else it is dead in the water–a mere single-issue evangelist group selling tedious newspapers on a street corner. We hope to be much more energetic ‘pamphleteers’ than that, artists embedded in our communities for the long-term–with far bigger dreams than the smug satisfaction of a large mailing list!
Everyone who joins our network is joining a movement which understands that failure is not an option, and that the only thing holding us back is our own alienation. So in that sense, we can’t wait to fu shit up & make waves with @warclouds_punx ASAP.
SOLIDARITY & FREE PALESTINE!!

Slide 1: Image with a faded kuffiyeh pattern in the background overlaid with text & image blocks.
On top, it reads ‘Announcing!’ diagonally overlaid in white on a black strip, and below, two circular logos outlined in white on their own black strip.
The one on the left is a circular logo with a pile of skulls in the background and white painted text reading ‘WARCLOUDS’.
The one on the right is the Punks Against Apartheid logo, which shows a fist with a spikey bracelet punching through the apartheid wall & the text ‘PUNKS AGAINST APARTHEID’ around the circle’s edge.
Slide 2: We are vehemently against apartheid and genocidal imperialism. We MUST take a stand against all states, organizations, and movements that propagate fascist and reactionary tactics used to displace, abuse, and kill the most vulnerable among us. We MUST stand with oppressed peoples around the world to protect and defend each other from continuous war, and government sanctioned exploitation and tyranny.
Slide 3: Punk is not just music on an album, but a social movement. Our social movement is direct action and solidarity. Our direct action and solidarity is in league with everyone fighting against racism, sexism, classism, queerphobia and transphobia, ableism, anti-environmentalists and industrialists, fascists, and the authoritarian capitalist state with it’s continued battle against humanity. No one is free until we are ALL free. FREE PALESTINE!
Slide 4: A picture divided into four quadrants in a stylised black & white filter. Upper left: a crowd sitting on the ground huddled together in a forest. On the upper right: A large white circle (A) filligreed with small tree branches & plants. On the lower left: a white circle (E) filligreed with small tree branches & plants. On the lower right: a dark forest background with the stylised ‘horror’ lettering on top which one can barely read as ‘LIGHT THE PYRES’.
Below, a long horizontal banner depicting a punk mosh pit, with large red squiggly letters depicting PUNKS AGAINST APARTHEID on top, and a punk giving the finger on the right saying ‘racism ain’t punk.’
