We are trying something new this week by auctioning off this drawing for @ dr.wissamalhajjar ‘s fundraiser! Bidders in UK or Europe (sorry, we’ll figure out global soon) can comment here or DM their bids for this piece & the two poetic lines @ dr.wissamalhajjar chose to match with it, starting at £€25! We will leave the auction open for a few days to see how high we can go.
These will be mounted in a simple frame and sent to the winner once they send receipt of the amount sent to @ dr.wissamalhajar ‘s fundraiser. The frame is a very simple ‘IKEA’ style frame that is being reused instead of being thrown out. The key is DIY and raising money creatively for the families we support, so think about the spirit more than any hopes for a ‘fancy’ fetish object you will receive. GIVE GENEROUSLY and feel warm and fuzzy inside!

The drawing depicts the famous Gaza Sunbird and the phrase “إن شاء الله في القدس الفرحة تدوم”, which means “God willing, joy will spread in Jerusalem.” The poetic lines below read: “فِلَسْطينُ يا عِطراً يُسافِرُ في دَمي / ويا نبضةً تَعلو على كلِّ الألَم”, which (artistically translated) means “O Palestine, you fragrant scent coursing through my veins / O beating pulse that transcends all pain.”
If we have any luck with this, perhaps we will do more in the drawing series!
