It was a ton of work…but it was worth it!! Thank you to all of the amazing PAA members worldwide who came up with this concept and executed it within a relatively short time-span!
As the post indicates, we managed to raise almost €13,000 for our Palestinian friends & organisations!! The majority of this came from direct proceeds and donations from shows during the fest, and another chunk from related events & stalls held throughout this period which got WAY more attention than we had prior to the fest! In fact, we averaged OVER €1,200 per Bi-Weekly Highlight throughout this 2 month period, a record which we hope you will help us to sustain beyond the festival throughout 2026 by directly donating to the families we highlight on our page! NB: we are still waiting for some final donations to come through so we can make an accurate report. However, as it may take awhile longer and we have had folks asking about it, we thought we’d provide an overall estimate to encourage the community.
Of course, as we always say… fundraising is not liberation. All of us must be involved in political action in order to support the needs of Palestinian liberation at this time. But our responsibility to also never forget mutual aid remains ever-present. We hope you’ll continue to join us on this journey as we expand our efforts all over the damn place!
