Hope or Apathy joins Punks Against Apartheid!

We are thrilled to announce Hope or Apathy @hopeorapathy has joined Punks Against Apartheid, now the 5th label & distro in our extended network!

Militant, political DIY is strong in the ‘North American’ Midwest, and we are excited to see more of our friends & comrades coming together to build the alternative systems that we NEED to weather the storms coming our way.

As the colonial-managerial class plunges our world into deeper & deeper chaos, sadistically displacing and murdering millions, we cannot afford to wait to start building networks of mutual aid and political action. The war ‘over there’ & the war ‘over here’ are products of the same violent, extractive system. And we can only build our collective power to refuse that war economy with grassroots movements that can concretely interrupt the gears of the machine–not simply as passive ‘civilians’, but as autonomous workers whose hands produce everything that we enjoy.

In other words: a cooperative, worker-managed economy is inseparable from the Palestine solidarity movement. Only a scene that sustains local communities can have a real impact when it withdraws its participation from genocide; only a scene free of corporate-extractive influence can have a vision beyond tomorrow’s profit margins. Do not let anyone tell you that Palestinian liberation is a ‘niche’ issue: it is the seed of our collective liberation, and why we will never stop shouting: FROM BOYCOTT TO AUTONOMY!

It's easy to look around at the world and see that we are slipping further into madness but there is also hope. As more and more of us join the fight for Palestinian Liberation and for equality around the globe for trans folx, immigrants, laborers etc. we see people refusing to participate in the genocide machine and more people boycotting complicit corporations, bands, labels, venues, and entities in general.
While this work is extremely important, we also see a growing need to build alternative systems, ready to welcome those who choose refusal. Our goal with Hope or Apathy is to add another label and distro to those alternative systems.
