🚧 PUNKS AGAINST APARTHEID TRANSPARENCY REPORT #4 🚧

We are happy to bring you this next round of transparency reporting! This is our first report which has gone beyond the usual framework of UNDER THE BLADE OF A ZIONIST NIGHTMARE (UTBOAZN) fundraising, since our fundraising for Palestinian friends & family has expanded to the point that we launched our Mutual Aid Initiative in September.

Slides 3-9 outline our UTBOAZN profits & donations. UTBOAZN is a collaboration between @plasticwoundrecords , @sound_of_chaos_records , @awd_tapes , @eastrevrecords , @katastrofrecs , @scroll_of_sorrow , @distortedsedition , @crustgrind chicago , and @punksagainstapartheid ! Slides 10-11 outline the profits from our new Mutual Aid Initiative. We are still in our early days with this but we are very happy with how things are going! Firstly, our Bi-Weekly Highlights have been consistently raising around £700-800 per family. We believe we can aim higher as we coordinate with bands around the world to ensure every Bi-Weekly Highlight reaches a minimum threshold of funds raised. We also have matched 5 bands with 5 families/individuals for continuous fundraising beyond the Bi-Weekly Highlights–this is a component we have a LOT of plans for and we hope to expand it to many more families very soon.

MAIN TAKEAWAYS:

-We are able to sustain both long- and short-term fundraising, something which we couldn’t have imagine a year ago!

-Our Bandcamp sales continue at a steady pace but remain low. We would like to see much more, so we are looking for support from other collectives to figure out how to improve these sales (please message us if you have advice!!).

-Direct fundraising continues to be our forté and we are so proud of all our members for really pitching in on this. If you are thinking about joining the network & can commit to a certain percentage of funds raised from shows/in-person events to any aspect of our Mutual Aid Initiative, let us know! We continue to need all hands on deck, and will likely continue to need them for the foreseeable future.

For palestinian families + organisations!

SUMMARY

Up until now, our Transparency Reports were primarily about UNDER THE BLADE OF A ZIONIST NIGHTMARE (UTBOAZN). However, since then, PAA has expanded its fundraising efforts considerably. So from now on UTBOAZN profits will be counted in a larger report on PAA’s overall fundraising. (Slides 3-9)

Online & physical sales for all volumes of UTBOAZN has slowed considerably, so we are reconsidering the scale and pace of the UTBOAZN. We are looking for support around this. Please get in touch!

The Mutual Aid Initiative we launched on 25/09 has been a success so far, with the majority of funds from this round deriving from that project & its precursors. (Slide 10)

We undertook a major fundraising effort to raise money for the Gaza Sunbirds boat on the 1000 Madleens flotilla. Given the urgency of the campaign and the desire to protect donors’ privacy, we could not track every single donation, but we have attempted to account for for this in our calculations. (Slide 11)

Because we focused a lot of effort on community fundraising for the Sunbirds, our other supported organisations received less this time around. We hope to achieve more of a balance in the future!
