💥HUGE BDS WIN FOR JAPAN!💥Aichi Prefecture announces the END to the Aichi-Israel Matching Program between Japanese manufacturers and Isrli tech startups! After 2+ years of local organizing and 18 weeks of relentless international campaigning, Palestine Solidarity organizers in Japan @think4olive @hiroshima_palestine_vigil @bdsjapanbulletin @takeshi_evolstak @punksagainstapartheid have successfully been able to #SMASHTHEMATCH! This is a slam dunk for Japan’s hardworking BDS movement, which leveraged on-the-ground people power and a cross-border, grassroots virtual campaign to pressure the Aichi government to cancel this genocidal military technology exchange. Congratulations and AROGATOU GOZAIMASU to every person and group worldwide that signed petitions, wrote emails, and persistently left comments on Aichi’s social media demanding an end to the program and divestment from Isrli apartheid. Since 2022, Aichi Prefecture has wasted taxpayer $$ on matching Isrli startups with 18 different Japanese companies to bring “cutting edge” technology to Japan. But they lied and didn’t say what it was really for: genocidal military tech for AI, drones, & cybersecurity. BUT our communities refuse to be complicit in genocide!!
